Cookie Bar
This cookie bar (or baked cookie dough as I sometimes call it) is my go to party desert. It’s a classic, ooey gooey treat and a guaranteed crowd pleaser.
Ingredients
2 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
2 sticks butter, soft
3/4 cup cane sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 tbs vanilla
2 tbs cream
2 large eggs
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips/chunks
1 cup dark chocolate chips/chunks
Supplies
Hand mixer / stand mixer
1 medium bowl
1 large bowl
Measuring cups and spoons
1 glass casserole dish. Smaller for a more doughy, thick cookie. Larger for a thinner, more baked cookie.
Recipe
Preheat your oven to 325°
Start by mixing your dry ingredients together. Combine 2 cups flour, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp baking soda in a medium bowl.
Then grab your larger bowl and cream 2 sticks soft butter, 3/4 cup cane sugar, 3/4 cup brown sugar, 1 tbs vanilla, and 2 tbs cream in the larger bowl and beat with your mixer. Pro tip: save the butter wrappers and use them to grease your baking dish.
Once the mixture is combined and creamy , add eggs one at a time and mix.
Dump the contents of your dry bowl into into the wet mixture and combine.
Hand mix 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips and 1 cup dark chocolate chips into the bowl with a spatula.
Scoop the cookie batter into the greased baking dish and spread evenly. Place in the oven at 325°.
After 20 minutes, take out the dish and sprinkle with maldon salt to taste. Place the dish back in the oven for another 15-20 minutes depending on size of dish and how doughy you would like the bar.
We prefer our cookie bar on the doughy end of the spectrum and take it out before the center is fully hardened.
Best served with homemade, yolky ice cream or a large glass of milk!
